An older method for the production of caustic soda is the soda-lime process in which soda ash (calcium di-hydroxide) is converted to caustic soda in reaction with sodium carbonate.

1. The production of caustic soda

Caustic soda is produced by using the raw material, i.e. liquid soda generated by the membrane or diaphragm method in petrochemicals and large and reliable factories of the country. The 50% liquid soda is first transmitted to the factories of caustic soda by using special tankers;

2. The production of caustic soda then, in condensation lines, its water vapors and after some stages liquid soda is carefully converted to caustic soda with the purity of 98%-99%.
